ES Jamie Nares (nacida en Londres en 1953) es una artista británica radicada en Nueva York, reconocida por su práctica multidisciplinaria que incluye pintura, cine, video, fotografía, música y performance. Destaca por sus pinturas gestuales de gran escala, creadas con herramientas hechas por ella misma, y por sus innovadores trabajos en cine experimental, como el largometraje Rome ’78 y el video Street. Su obra explora el movimiento, la fisicalidad y la percepción del tiempo, y forma parte de importantes colecciones como el MoMA y el Whitney. En 2019, Jamie reveló su identidad como mujer transgénero, integrando esta experiencia en su trabajo artístico.
EN Jamie Nares (born in London in 1953) is a British artist based in New York, known for her multidisciplinary practice encompassing painting, film, video, photography, music, and performance. She is recognized for her large-scale gestural paintings created using tools she makes herself, as well as her innovative experimental films such as the feature Rome ’78 and the video Street. Her work explores movement, physicality, and the perception of time, and is included in major collections like MoMA and the Whitney Museum. In 2019, Jamie publicly came out as a transgender woman, incorporating this experience into her artistic practice.
